Steampunk production at full steam

It's been a while I know but, this weekend I got a boot up the backside.  OK it was last weekend when hubby booked us to do a Steampunk weekend at the National Railway Museum in Shildon at the end of September.

This week I have made 15 cards (will be photographed later) 2 canvases, a pen holder, stand alone word and 4 plaques, (only two plaques included here as I stupidly decided to use glossy accents, so hopefully that will be dry by the end of September!!)

First up the two canvases, some of you may have seen the first one already as it was on FB last night.

Next up the two plaques

Now for the pen pot

Last but by no means least the stand alone word

I will be at the event in Shildon on the 27th September and possibly on the 26th as well.  Pop by and say hello, and have a peek at what my other half does for shits n giggles.

Playtime with Sincerely Yours by Phill Martin products

I wanted to do something other than cards with Phill's products to showcase how they can be used in Home Decor and/or for altered pieces.

This first one uses his ink sprays to make the back ground, purples and a pink.  I sprayed a greyboard oversized tag till I was happy with the coverage and the colour.  I then stamped the dandelion clock twice in versamark and used Phill's purple cosmic shimmer embossing powder to add the contrast.

I stamped the sentiment onto a diecut shape that I had used a co-ordinating Distress Ink to colour as it was plain white.  I used versacolour dew drop ink and clear embossed.

I then went to town with the embellishments from stash.

This second piece is a hanging plaque, I used Cosmic Shimmer Chalk Paint in blue then Green to create the crackled background, I then used the Dragonfly Background stamp stamped in Archival and heat set it (I am the world's worst for smudging even fast drying ink!)  I set this aside and did the mini MDF Tag in the same way but used this for my Sentiment, which again was stamped in archival.  I then added the ribbon and the embellishments from stash, I then added a chain to hang it by.

The products used can all be purchased from Phill's shop Honeypot Crafts.

Welcome to your new Home card

This card id for friends of ours that have recently moved house.  I used a fair mix of stash on this, but am really pleased with the outcome.

Stamped the Stampendous Gate post and masked to add the Odd House at the back

Used Sue Wilson's Ivy dies for added foliage (cut from Coredinations), the keys are Memory Box

Sheena Douglass Distressed Embossing folder used on grey Coredinations, then sanded back for the matte

Do Crafts Madame Pompideu (or whatever it is) embellishemnts for the sentiment)

Have to be careful who I use this for, but I know the recipients will see the funny side

Because it was

Steampunk Tag and Happy New year

I realise you are all saying "Happy New Year???? it's February!!!" but happy blog followers this is my first post of the year.  I had planned on posting much, much sooner, but I was hit with that evil cold/flu that has been doing the rounds and with other family commitments beyond my control, I have got to February before actually doing anything blog worthy.

For this project I was inspired, and I mean instantly inspired to get off my backside after seeing Hels Sheridan post for Sunday Stampers.  So I "sprinted" (ha ha, yeah right!) to the bat desk! Oops craft desk!!!

I grabbed a Kraft card Tag and attacked it with Brushed Corduroy and antique linen Distress Inks, I then used the Tim Holtz stamps to make the background and the gent is also a Tim Holtz stamp but I stamped him on a separate piece of card and distressed it to match then fussy cut (ooh I don't like that term), I cut him out and glued him on.  I then used some Creative Expression stamps (Steampunk and the quote) and attached some metal embellishments.
