Playtime with inks and stamps

This card was just a good old play with distress inks and stamps and an excuse to use my Graphic 45 papers.

I started with a clean piece of white A5 card stock, used a stamp and three shades of distress ink to create the backing, I then distressed the whole paper back with the same three shades.  I used an element from the aforementioned Graphic 45 paper, I had to cut it up (sobs deeply into hands).  I then used the Stitched border from Debbi Moore's Shabby Chic - Haberdashery stamps, the Sewing machine and lady in coset are from IndigoBlu, I finished off with a ribbon tied into a bow.

Weeds are just Wild flowers growing in the Wrong Place

That's what I keep telling myself anyway.  Well on the subject of flowers I have made the following card to be entered into the following challenges:

To create the card I took an oval matting and layering plate and stamped the images (Kanban stamps) in versamark and then used white embossing powder to get the contrast and zing.  I used the LOTV sketch as the basis of the layout and matt and layered and used ribbon for the bands across.

Mi Casa Es Su Casa

For this card I used Kanban acrylic stamps to build a mini scene, coloured the elements with a combination of promarkers and flexmarkers.  For the layout I followed the sketch as on Willow Sketchie Challenge.

Hope you like it

A Heartfelt thank you

As quite a few of you who chat to me on twitter are aware, I have been suffering with a severe bout of depression since Christmas and been off work since the end of January when I couldn't fight it any longer.  Over the past few months my Twit friends have been an absolute lifeline, so my first and biggest thank you is to all of you.

My second thank you is to all the wonderful and talented crafters who follow my blog, the encouragement, tips, help and lovely comments left have been a huge boost to my confidence.  I just hope that over the remainder of my recovery and beyond I can continue to impress you all.

Thank you everyone.

There Was an Old Woman

I have been itching to use this stamp for as long as I've had it, which is about 2 years, but the opportunity has never presented itself.  I coloured the image with a combination of promarkers and flexmarkers, I cut the image out with Xcut Nesting die, I then went around the edge with a distress ink.  I then used some lace to truly frame the image.  I coloured a luggage tag with a distress ink and used Letraset rub-on text to get the wording.  I used a green poladot backing paper for the base and used the cut of strips to make the ribbons in the tag.  I then added a button and a bow to finish the card off.

Blogging for the uninitiated

Well today I have tried to make a start at adding a page from which to sell the cards, tissue box covers and glassware and in the future soaps I make with a view to adding more products as I discover new crafts and techniques.  After an hour and a half I have lost the will to live.  I guess it will get easier as I get used to doing it, but let's face it, I am not great at these things, I have only just learnt how to link to challenge blogs.

I feel the next few weeks could be extreme as far as learning curves go.

I am hoping to launch it at the beginning of June but it may end up being July at the current rate of progress and learning.

St Georges Day

I know it's not for a few more days, but I think it is high time we English took back our heritage and celebrated our saints day, for this reason I have made a St George card.

I used a plain white card with scalloped edges and used red card to make the cross, I then added a stamped image of a knight on his steed.  Hope you like.
