Card making on a Sunday

Today is Easter Sunday and as I've said before, I'm not a chocolate person, so I treated myself to plenty of crafty stash instead this last week.

This first card was all but done, I did the topper fro my previous post and to enter into PaperArtsy inspiration challenge, and knew I wanted to make it up into a Father's Day Card for the FIL, I had the Graphic 45 paper ready, but it needed something else.  I'd seen Sue Wilson use the foil art card to make aged metallic embellishments and, as I happened to be in Hobbycraft I bought one (yes it did have the design printed on, but it sands off) and had a go using a Spellbinders Iron Works die, in truth, I would say I used to fiddly a die, but it still worked.  I also happened to be at a crop at Chloe's Crafts yesterday, and it would be rude not to buy stash when in a craft shop, I got some Creative Expressions ribbons amongst this stash and used the cream and tan striped grosgrain across the bottom.

The next card is for my current boss, she was on contract setting the team up, sadly when the job came up and substantive employee was successful at interview so we will be saying farewell.

I started by layering embossed gloss card onto an 8X8 blank and using Creative Expressions PVA coloured glue I made the "pearls".  I then used Bazzill Basics for the next mat and wrapped Silky crush ribbon around the bottom, and in white ribbon I made the bow.  I used labels 20 and Just Rite stamps with embossing powder for the centre piece and layered these using 1mm foam tape.  I then cut a sentiment from stash to fit the centre of the smaller embossed dies and added some hat pins.

I would like to enter the above card into Hiding in my Craft Room challenge #91 - Freestyle

This last card was an experiment, I got the base stamp - Penny Black Flourish background which I have to say is a massive stamp, from Craftsite (link to your left). I wanted to see if it would emboss, well as toucan see it does.  I used a Crafters Companion bride stamp and Spellbinder die to create the main image, backed onto black card and mounted onto a 5X7 blank. Sentiment was from stash.
